Our work with Synectics. Raising participation with a strong champions group

Synetics plc comprises seven different businesses that have been brought together through a series of acquisitions over a number of years.

Employee Feedback was hired to carry out a Group-wide satisfaction survey and to determine the ingredients of synergy across the group.

The survey was used to investigate senior leadership instincts about the HR needs of the Group and to establish some base line measures of engagement that would enable comparison over time.

The CEO followed our recommendation to involve employees in the process as early as possible to build trust in the motives behind the survey and participation levels.

A strong group of employee champions was formed, each with experience in marketing and communications. They became powerful employee advocates, answering their colleagues’ questions about the survey and promoting its purpose.

The final response rate was 83% – a big achievement for a first survey in these circumstances.
